FOOD AND METABOLISM CONNECTION

METABOLISM

Metabolism is the process by which your body converts what you eat and drink into energy. During this complex biochemical process, calories in food and beverages are combined with oxygen to release the energy your body needs to function. Basically, metabolism can refers to the countless chemical processes going on continuously inside the body that allow life and normal functioning. It keeps us, as it keeps all living things, alive.

Building and repairing the body requires energy that ultimately comes from your food.

Factors that effect your metabolism including :

  • Your body size and composition. People who are larger or have more muscle burn more calories, even at rest.
  • Your sex. Men usually have less body fat and more muscle than do women of the same age and weight, which means men burn more calories.
  • Your age. As you get older, the amount of muscle tends to decrease and fat accounts for more of your weight, slowing down calorie burning.
 .
Do you ever heard that people with slow metabolism is easier to gain weight compare with people with high metabolism??😱😱

How fast your metabolism works is determined mostly by your genes and age! But the greatest factor that affect your metabolism as you aged are POOR DIET & PHYSICAL INACTIVITY!!

WHAT IS DIFFERENT BETWEEN LOW & HIGH METABOLISM

WHAT IS FOOD AND METABOLISM CONNECTION?

Food is nutrition which is key to metabolism. The pathways of metabolism rely upon nutrients that they breakdown in order to produce energy. Food that we take will breakdown them into energy for body.

The nutrients from food that provide to the body will supply energy (calories) and chemicals that body itself cannot synthesize. This help in building, repair body tissue and functioning of the body. The excess energy sources are most likely to end up stored as fat in the body. The choices of the food that we take everyday is important!

❎That means avoiding fried foods, such as potato chips; and refined sugars, such as those found in soft drinks, candy and many baked goods.
Instead, choose whole grains, lean proteins, vegetables and fruit, which your body can more readily use to fuel its functions and activities.

HOW TO BOOST YOUR METABOLISM?

While a person has no control over the genetic aspects of their metabolism, there are some ways to help speed up the rate at which the body processes calories. There are a lot of tips out here how to boost your metabolism including :
